SuperGen Marine workshop, 19-20 June 2006, Oxford
 The six monthly SuperGen Marine workshop on 20 th June 2006 was held in Oxford, at St Anne’s College, with the internal SuperGen meeting for academics and RAs held at St Anne’s the day before on 19 th June. Attendance of collaborators and public on the 20 th was by invitation only because places were limited. There was a series of themed talks, with PG poster presentations at lunchtime. The event was organised by the UK Energy Research Centre. Please read the detailed programme for 20 th June.

Charting a Course for Marine Energy
 On the 29th of September 2004 the SuperGen Marine energy consortium celebrated its 1st birthday with a highly successful seminar in Edinburgh entitled "Charting a Course for Marine Energy". Marine renewables have the potential to make a significant contribution to UK renewable energy production and can help to meet the Government’s ambitious target of a 60% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Marine renewables also provide a rare opportunity for the development of new markets for UK manufacturing and services industries.

The SuperGen Marine Consortium
 The Marine Energy Research Consortium commenced in October 2003 following the award of £2.6 million under the EPSRC's SUPERGEN Programme. The award will fund research into marine renewable energy conversion and delivery. The consortium is undertaking collaborative research with the intention of achieving a step change in the development of generic marine energy technologies. The academic partners within the consortium are: The University of Edinburgh, The Robert Gordon University, Heriot Watt University, Lancaster University and the University of Strathclyde. The industrial collaborators include more than 20 national and international marine energy and electricity supply companies.
