Charting a Course for Marine Energy
mct_square.jpgOn the 29th of September 2004 the SuperGen Marine energy consortium celebrated its 1st birthday with a highly successful seminar in Edinburgh entitled "Charting a Course for Marine Energy".

Marine renewables have the potential to make a significant contribution to UK renewable energy production and can help to meet the Government’s ambitious target of a 60% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Marine renewables also provide a rare opportunity for the development of new markets for UK manufacturing and services industries.

This seminar brought together more than 60 delegates including some of the key players in the industry to address the opportunities presented by marine renewables. The event also attempted to identify the key strategic challenges that must be tackled if marine renewables are to emerge as a major energy source for the new millennium.
